I know Raptor stands for Red-eye Albino Patternless Tremper ORange. But lately I see some geckos labeled as Raptors, but they are banded. How does that work out? Aren't they suppose to be almost patternless? How do they know its a raptor if it doesn't have the patternless body?

Here is an example of a gecko labeled Raptor that looks like a jungle albino to me.

That is one awesome and stunning gecko in that photo!! I'm not sure about that specific gecko but I believe there is a patternless trait attached to the eclipse eye trait. I don't know about the bands but I do know that RAPTORS can be line bred to show more or less pattern such as the carrot head trait. I would assume the bands may be able to be line bred as well?

First off I love the gecko in that picture. And some people would call that a jungle raptor but technically its tremper albino jungle eclipse i believe

Technically, according to the abbreviation, RAPTOR's should be patternless. However, 2 things can happen:

--people continue to produce albino eclipses that are jungle or banded and call them RAPTOR's. At a certain point you either have to remain a purist or cave in to popular usage

--some geckos that are born as patternless stripes do develop spots as they age.
