Hatched out this beauty yesterday. Not sure of morph. Dad is Aptor from H.I.S.S. Mom is a poss. het radar (het bell and eclipse) from H.I.S.S. They were sold to me as a pair and I was told they would make "very nice babies" and they definately did! After breeding them together, I read a few threads about how wrong it is to cross albino strains. I have since purchased a nice enigma male poss het radar from H.I.S.S to pair her with when he's big enough. I have since done a LOT of research on morphs and genes to prevent this confusion again. Is there anyway to tell the difference between radar and raptor at all? Pics of parents included.

I have not personally hatched out any Radars, thus I can not give you a first hand answer on ID differences from Raptor to Radar, although I do know that there are very few Radars which are Patternless Stripe as much as the hatchling posted above.

If I were you I would contact Kelli about those two parents because I highly doubt that she would have sold you a pair of gecko with different albino strains and recommend breeding them. May have been mislabeled or something on accident.

I have sent Kelli a message concerning the leos in question. I was interested originally in the male and my husband wanted to know what kind of deal she could do for a pair. She showed us 2 poss het radar girls and I chose one. I asked her about outcome of babies with full intentions of breeding them. I was told they would make really nice babies. I'm not saying anything negative about Kelli at all. I think she knows 100% what she is doing and is a wonderful breeder. I would just like to figure out what my hatchling is.

As I said, after reading the problems with crossing albino strains (after they had already bred), I purchased a correct male to breed her with to hopefully not have this confusion in the future. Thanks

talked to Kelli about them

She said it is possible that the female she sold me as a poss het radar is also het tremper albino. She said that the enigmas that were crossed into her lines could have been het but were not showing it. That would make my little one a Raptor.

I am not saying that she specifically said to cross them but she was asked which female she would make a deal on to have as a mate for the male and she recommended two girls that were both poss het radar that I chose from. She knew I planned to breed them because I asked, first for a nice pair for a good deal, and then asked what the outcome of the offspring would be because I was not familiar with the het radars. I was told they would make some really nice babies together. I think the little hatchling is adorable.

Again, I had my questions answered and am no longer confused. I'm also not saying ANYTHING negative about Kelli or her geckos. I will contine to buy from her in the future. I am very happy with my leos even I was a little mixed up at first.

Turns out that the Mom is already a cross of albino strains when I bought her that was NOT KNOWN at the time from adding new blood into Kelli's lines. I am not complaining at all, I just wanted help identifying my hatchling (which Kelli has helped me with).

When posting the hatchling for ID, I figured someone would ask for a pic of parents, so I wanted to be clear and explain how this had happened. Regardless, I have brought this to her attention and she was very fast in responding and helping me out. My e-mail to her said basically the same thing the first post on this thread did. I informed her about posting this thread when I e-mailed (so she had pics and all details) and she responded in a timely manner and was able to answer all my questions.
