I was feeding Amber some Carnivore Care via syringe(dab it on her nose and she'll lick it off) just a few moments ago, and I had some on my finger. I put my finger close to her nose, and she licked it off. My finger wasn't so close that she could have gotten it by licking accidentally. She stretched out her tongue and really licked it off. It was a really special bonding moment for me, even if she only did it because it was only her temporary source of nutrition;).

Post your bonding moments!

I've a few;

When I took Tiamat to the vet for her check up she climbed up into my hair and hid under my hankerchief/headband thing I usually wear and seemed very upset when the vet had to remove her.

When I had to feed Tiamat the slurry through an eye dropper the last time she had stopped eating. Made me feel...really maternal. o.o

When Mandarin snuggles against the side of my neck or hides under my ponytail for warmth.

I feel a bonding whenever I feed my geckos, I think. lol

I've got so many with my boys. Mainly with Dante because he's a mama's boy lol But I remember the first time he climbed up onto my hand, I thought he was just going to sit on my palm but he made his way all the way up to my shoulder and sat there.

Mikko used to be skittish and didn't like being held and one day he was scratching to come out (the first of what I wish he would stop doing now XD), so I put my hand it. He climbed on it and I sat down on my bed with him. He sat on my lap for a half hour while & we watched tv haha Ok so I watched tv and he was there for the body heat but whatever.

Now my newest gecko Arella, she's still timid but she's coming around. The first time she shed here she had stuck shed on her toes, so I took her out to get it off. After I was done, she sat there drinking water from the q-tip and then my finger.

I don't know about bonding, but I know I felt really sorry for STUTFL when he was in my hands and was startled by a bright light (it was daytime, and I'd been cupping my hand over his face so he didn't feel nervous). He let out a squeak, turned around and stuck his little face in my hands.
I'm relieved he didn't try to jump off, instead. :sweatdrop:

my adult's cage is near my vanity where i put on makeup and do my hair and stuff. every time i sit down to do my makeup, my female runs to the end of the tank and sits there and watches me until i'm done.

my adults NEVER sleep in their hides, they're always sprawled across the floor and they never run and hide from me

when i went to soak my male because he had shed on his toes, i put him in the water and when he felt it touch his body he hung onto my hand for dear life and scrambled all the way up my arm

and when my female lets me flip her over on her back in my hand and she just lays there for as long as i want her too. no squirming or anything

i have none with my baby yet =(

I put our female in the water and she climbed out, so I tried again, and she would NOT go back. Hopefully I can have tons of bonding moments with the baby I'm getting.

Be careful doing that! Lizards don't have a diaphram like we do, and their rib muscles aren't strong enough to breathe properly when they are on their back.

What I do is place them in an acrylic bowl I have. Its completely clear and in the right lighting I can see quite well. It has a plastic snap on lid that looks like swiss cheese from all the penny size holes I cut in for ventilation, even though they never spend long in there. Being acrylic its very easy to clean and sanitize between geckos too.

Haha, I have my Dante out for his daily time to run & explore and he's such a goof. He was behind me on my pile of blanket and pillows, coming towards me. And every time I'd turn around he'd freeze, get a little closer when I turn back around, face him again & he freezes. XD "If I don't move, she won't see me & put me back in the tank"

But now he's climbed up the back of my shirt and is sitting on my shoulder. I love our bonding time.

Heh. Whenever mine climbs up the back of my shirt, he insists upon climbing *underneath* it instead of on top. And then he stays there, only with his head sticking out, so I'm convinced I'm going to strangle him if I move in any direction. :tongue3:

I have to say if I've ever had a real bonding moment with any of my leo's it was my first, Lennie. When I got her she was ill. She had severe eye caps in both eyes and according to her previous keeper hadn't eaten in over 3 months. It took me hours to do, but I still can't describe the feeling when I finally got her attention rubbing a cricket across her nose and she pulled her head back a touch and snatched the cricket from my fingers. It was a wonderful feeling to know that a blind gecko had finally eaten. After the vet had removed her eye caps she even allowed me to handle her twice a day to give her antibiotics. She'd never been handled by either of her previous two families.

Today she's a happy healthy normal gecko. She has limited vision, but she can see well enough to hunt. She loves to come out and visit, but she's still not a fan of being held unless she is sitting on a flat hand. She's also the only gecko I have that clicks, grunts and squeaks in protest if she is picked up.
