I may being a bit paranoid but today I bought 50 mealworms from Flunkers. I was seperating the worms from the containers to put them in my gutloading containers, when I grapped a worm that flipped out (it was curling into a ball and uncurling real fast). I seperated that one on the lid. So I kept looking through the bran and I grapped another worm that was going crazy. This has never happened before...are worms susposed to do this? This is the first time I bought Flunkers mealworms, if it matters. I heard about a parasite somewhere that makes a caterpillar curl up like this to fling a predator off of it. I just dont want to feed my gecko any worm that could hurt him. Any ideas on if this is normal and it just happened to happen or the worms are carrying parasites or something?

Your previous worms may have been cold from the fridge, about to turn into pupae or nearly dead. Mealworms that move attract geckos and are the best to feed.

Its completely normal and healthy of mealworms to do that. But if you think thats bad you should try 3+ inch long superworms!
