We have Leopard Geckos, Ball pythons and Crested Geckos. We use plastic continers with clear lids for hide/moist boxes for all of them. Each hide top has a hole cut in the center for all the reptiles. The snakes and leopards love them, but the crested do not spend much time in them(I work 4-12 and spend about a half hour in the office with thme when I get home). The snakes and leopards use them often throughout the day. To encourage the crested We have removed the top.

The question is more geared towards laying eggs. We have two females that may be gravid(1 is 50 grams & the other is 34) and I was wondering if they will lay there. We use paper towels for the substrate.
Thanks
I would have included pics, but they were too large file size. Tips on making them smaller would be appreciated. (I already used paint)

I use a glad tupper ware container that is about 48 ounces filled with moist bed-a-beast. I wouldn't trust a moist paper towel. I leave the lids on but cut a hole in the top. They use them when they need to. The lay box should be at least 3-4 inches tall.

You may consider uploading them to an onling hosting service and having them adjust the size of the picture. I'm not sure how that works though. I use Photoshop and adjust the picture in there. You can try save for web, which minimizes the bytes or something. I forget.

We use food storage containers (maybe 4x6x4) with a hole in the top with moist coco husk inside.

I upload our photos to http://www.photobucket.com. You can resize them to preset sizes with the click of a button and then copy the IMG tag and paste in directly into to text box here...then it magically shows up as a pic! Super easy.

Thanks for the replys. Still no luck on the photos yet. The moist hide is 3-4 inches deep. Do you think I should put the top back on? The top is off now because everytime I put them in the moist box, it apeears to be stressing them out after I put them in it.

Thanks

How about peat moss for the hide box?
Thanks

You could use it. It will still dry out without the lid. I prefer bed-a-beast or eco-earth (same product different name). It seems to hold moisture well.

I am going to turn the container upside down(top is clear, bottom is black) and then am going to cut a hole into the side. I will get it done tonight and get the pics up.
Thanks for the replys.

Here are pics of the hide boxes. I am guessing that they do not like the clear top container, so I was going to flip it over and use it upside down. What do you think? I was using vermiculite as the lay medium and will now be using peat moss. Should I give peat moss a try with the clear top up or should I turn it over with the black side on top?
Thanks, Don

The lids on my hides are a transulent blue with a clear tub. I don't think the clear would upset them, but I could be wrong.
