You need at minimum a 15 gallon tall tank. 10 gallon would be fine for a juvie, but not an adult.

I use fake stuff. I keep simplistic enclosus with egg cartons and fake plants.

You can put multiple females in a tank, but you still have to worry about bullying and stress. No males together. Same basic concept.

Wow tricks... Um. Yea no. lol. they more or less leap not jump.

You can sex them at 10 grams with a loupe or over 6 months without, but it can be hard at 6 months, as sometimes they'll have bulges and the next day it'll disappear.

I don't let mine do "tricks." I'd hate for them to fall and hurt themselves

I agree with the previous post that the minimum for an adult crestie should be one of the "15 high" tanks that is the same footprint as a 10 gallon but is 20 inches high. I think that cage would give a crestie enough height. I have one of these cages, and I'm going to add one of those wire "aquarium topper" cages on top. That will increase the vertical space in the cage to 28 inches. I guess if you put one of those aquarium toppers on a 10 gallon cage, you might start to get enough height, but why give your animals less than the best?

I've only had one crestie, so I can't speak as an expert. However, as a relative novice, I'd like to give some advice to all other novices on a novice-to-novice basis. Until we have experience with these animals, why not keep them each in separate cages. That way, you know that each of your animals is eating and defecating. If we have multiple animals in each cage, we often don't know that each animal is eating and defecating. /soapbox off

Thanks,

Bill

Crested geckos take way longer to sex than Leos. I can't ever tell with a loupe so I wait until it's really obvious, 9 or 10 months old. LOL

I dont know about tricks, but one of mine played dead once. He was sleeping on the bottom of the tank in the middle of the day but i assumed he was dead. I didnt touch him but i just walked around trying to figure out what went wrong, how did he die, why did he die, what didnt i do right??? Then when i went to take him out and feed my other one he was climbing around all normal! Im not gonna like, it freaked me out.

I haven't ever seen my smeagle do tricks.....other then he refuses to eat his crickets until I smoosh the guts out ( I know ewwwww ). He has serious cricket issues. He is scared to death of them, LOL. He is quite good at leaping from his ledges in his tank onto his vines and vise versa.
