I've decided my next leo will be either a blazing blizzard or diablo blanco. I've been visiting all the breeder sites I can find, including all the sponsors above. They all have such beautiful geckos! I'd like to order a baby leo. It looks like CrestedGecko.com has both morphs as babies (I found it kind of hard to find babies, most leos for sale are juvies or adults) Is there anything special to consider when mail ordering a baby? Is it a bad idea? Has anyone ever ordered from CrestedGecko.com?

Garrick is absolutely awesome to deal with. I got my first green tree python from him back in 2002 and still have her. I also just recently picked up some tangs from him, my first leos I've purchased directly from him.

Additionally you might check out Geckos Etc. Steve's been around for years, with he, myself, and Marcia (Golden Gate GEckos) usually being the ones to ramble on and on about stripe genetics back in the day. I believe Steve should have both of those morphs and I know he and Garrick were the first ones to get blazing blizzards in other strains of albinos, I just forget who got what with which strain. I'm actually working out a payment plan right now for some geckos on Steve's site.

If I were into the original white geckos with red eyes (some will get that humor) I'd go with one of them [Garrick or Steve].

Only thing original would be the Tremper albino, which Ron didn't even originate but rather re-originated. Just sayin... Plus you've got to pay Ron's crazy pricing all because, and I quote, "I can sell at this price point to the Europeans all day." That was his reply when a friend asked about some geckos he had for sale at the 2010 Arlington NARBC expo.

I can't go too crazy as far as price. Probably no more than $200 max. I've noticed babies are cheaper. If I see a juvenile I like, I might go with that, but it's just so fun to watch the babies growing up and changing.

It's true, I got 2 babies and the fact that they grow so fast during their first year, it's really fun watching them get bigger and see how their colors/patterns change. Of course only downside to babies is that you have no idea what they're going to look like. But if you really don't have a specific taste, that can be a good thing as it'll be like a surprise.

Good luck in picking your leos!

He said that? He has always been really kind to me. Maybe he misunderstood the person. I bet Ron would give you a good deal on a blizzard. If you want two he might even give you a better deal. I'd ask anyways, just in case he does.

To paraphrase, that was his reply when asked what he'd take for a jungle bandit he had on his table on Sunday at closing. He said his price was firm and that if she didn't sell he'd just post her to the site at the same price as the Europeans are willing to pay for it.

If you're interested in purchasing through garrick here's my opinion.

I personally drove to his facility about two months ago to pick up a breeder rack. When I first met him, he was very welcoming and nice! He showed me his whole place and of course showed me to the gecko room. He has amazing looking leos all very very very healthy! He even had a incubator with 300+ leopard gecko eggs I think he said, if not more.

I even purchased my raptor male from him he said it would go perfect with my female blizzard. He's a really nice guy and will answer every question you have for him. I highly recommend! You will not regret it!

That's a sad story. I suppose he has his reasons. Its sad when people have bad experiences with breeders.

That is awesome, thanks! I looked at the pics online and was amazed. I didn't search the site too much as far as location. Where is the facility located?

You only find juvies and adults for sale on websites because babies aren't shipped! When they are big and strong enough to be safely shipped, they will be 1-3 months old (juvies). Unless you pick the babies up at a show or at a breeder's facility, you probably won't find any responsible person sending you a "baby" ;) Otherwise, they should be about 15-20 grams minimum to be shipped. That equals at least 1-2 months of age.
