So here's a pic of his new tank. I decided to go with aspen, and when I feed him I'll put reptile carpet on top of it so he can't ingest any of it. The skeleton hand thing is a tube basically. and the wood in the background is well wood, I forget what kind, but not pine or anything. Came from the reptile department of Petco. Mopani, maybe. I don't remember. I washed everything before I put it in the tank. What do you guys think? Should I change anything?

Looks good, the only thing I would change would be the water dish, I would go with one big enough for it to soak in.

That is a good tip, Jason. :main_thumbsup: While not all balls are soakers (mine NEVER soaks), it does help them shed better if they do.

Thanks guys. I've been thinking about a bigger water dish. He doesn't really soak in the one he's got. That wasthe first water dish I got ever. It was recommended to my dad when he got my my first leo. But after a while I took it out and gave her a smaller one because I felt it was too big. But, I will look around at work to see what I can find.

Aspen is great thats what i use for some of my balls newspaper for the others. The ones on aspen i take them out and put them in an empty tub and feed them in there. The ones that wont eat when i take them out of there cage and put them in another tub. They get the newspaper. With the carpet on top of the Aspen when u feed some can still get on or in the snakes mouth. With the aspen lots of people use it. Some feed on it and say its ok to. Some take there snakes out and put in another cage . Up to u i guess. How many snakes your feeding and all that. At first the snake might not like the carpet being added to its cage something new might be to busy with the carpet to even worry about the mouse/rat. To me it seems like its easier to take the snake out. Thats just me. I take the snakes out feed it them its eating i start cleaning cage and changing water. BY the time im done cleaning its cage the snakes done eating.

The carpet didn't/hasn't affected him eating. He's fed twice with my adding the carpet. I guess he doesn't mind it. When I notice him not eating because of it I'll definately find another method though. It is a hassel but eh...
