Just had a look at my 1 and only egg so far, it has a slight dent in the top and when i looked at the bottom an even bigger dent, is there anyway of restoring the shape or do i just leave and see if anything hatches.

May very well have the substrate too dry. That's normally what happens. I'd wait and see. Doesn't look good though. How many days have you been incubating the egg?

About a week now, using vermiculite in a tub with holes in.

I know there is debate about which method to use, maybe gonna give the 'no holes' method a go with the next clutch

Yeah, it's probably too late. But you can try just a bit of water in the container. Make sure if you put in just a little bit more water, you don't get water on the eggs. Another thing you can try is a piece of damp paper towel over the top of the eggs. They may plump back up. But I would wait though and see what happens. If they definitely go bad, you can throw them out then.

no! tape up the holes! I made that mistake! Tape up the holes, moisten a papertowel and put it on the dented egg. Cover. Remove the paper when it drys out ( mine took 2 days) 2 days later the egg looked GREAT and is still cooking!

I have never put anything on a dented egg... I just leave them alone and they eventually fill out on their own...

Soon, there will be no more worries about humidity levels and ratios...
