Designer Geckos has opened a brand new building/location for its gecko store operations (10 minutes from Boulder and 30 minutes from Denver). This great facility in Hygiene, Colorado is located just two miles from our current facility, and has the extra space needed to accomodate our office, as well as some of the additional breeding projects that we'd like to start up but do not have the current space for. It will also allow us the space to house all geckos individually for optimal growth and health of the geckos.
To the best of our knowledge, this may be the very first gecko store in the world. We will only sell leopard geckos and related supplies and equipment. We may expand to other types of geckos in the future. Store visits are by appointment only at this time. We will continue to offer geckos online as well, and there will be some exciting developments on that front. We have received great support from our affiliated breeders, and are excited about our own upcoming projects. There is an additional larger adjoining building on site that may be available in the future for conventions, seminars, and gecko shows, so stay tuned.......there is also an incredibly beautiful Open Space park directly across the road from the store, with spectacular mountain views, trails, and lakes for our visitors.
Online breeders have done an awesome job supplying leos to the gecko community, and while we will still sell online, we decided to also cover local folks in Colorado where leos are surprisingly relatively unknown. We are hopeful we will do OK despite the scary economy, and the feedback we've gotten from government officials and planning boards here has been very positive, so we feel good about our chances.
Sorry for the verbose post but we're pretty excited about this development, and we hope you are as well. We are doing what we can to spread the leo word and that will hopefully benefit us all.
