well he was a rescue, so he isn't where i want him to be quite yet. however i've been working with him and he is getting much better day by day. he has never tried to bite me or whip me with his tail, just wants to get away until i have him picked up and supported. then he's chill. especially when i put him in a soaking tub while cleaning his enclosure out. but yes, most people consider them to be very docile, and they are extremely intelligent. i don't think you can actually "tame" any reptile, but rather get them used to tolerating being handled.
