Diablo Negro

I've been thinking about the black pearl morph and what might be in the future and I came up with this. This morph would be taking red eyes and adding them to a black gecko. Is anyone atempting this yet? Also is there a cheaper black gecko? Maybe a midnight blizzard. And would it be possible to isolate red eyes frm the diablo blanco or raptor genes?.

I don't believe that would be possible. Red eyes come from a lack of melanin, while black comes from dense melanin deposits. Unless a mutation was to arise where only the eyes were amelanistic I don't see any way to create a "Diablo Negro".

Thanks for the help. I'm just really confused. Out of curiosity, what do you see coming from the black pearls?

I don't know enough about them to give an opinion. I have never seen one in person and the amount of info available on the net is minimal.

I see lots of dark geckos. Some use overly spotted normal for their projects, but I think I've seen some attempt with macks. I don't see anything but a darker gecko coming from it. Like tony said, no chances in red eyes, although it would be neat.

It wouldent be possable to have an albino black pearl because Albino means the Lacking of black pigment, however you may be able to cross enigmas to black pearls and with line breeding Dark geckos with copper colored eyes may be possable.

i was just thinking of this a few weeks ago and then i came across this post what if you crossed it with a raptor ? it would take some time for they eyes to go red but they would show less darkness each time and plus nobody but tug really knows the genetics of them anyways and even i dont think they know much about them as of yet

i really think they are just very dark normals that are incubated a very low temps for the colouring to be dark but thats my opinion
