I have only bred 1.1 AFT's and many more leos, so my AFT sample is small, but here are some possible differences:
--AFT's are not supposed to be as fertile as leos. My male is much gentler about his mating
--my female didn't do very well in burying her eggs so a few dried up before I found them. THis may just be the individual female, though since a few of my leos did this
--I think the lowest reasonable temp for incubating AFT eggs is a little higher than for leos. The book I read said 82.4 was lowest for AFT's and that's getting a bit towards the higher end to produce only females for leos
--the AFT's took longer than the leos to hatch. At 82.5 the leos took 7-8 weeks and the AFT's took 9-10 weeks
--the AFT's seem to be smaller at birth. A good-sized leo newly hatched was about 4 grams and a good sized AFT was about 1 gram. I sold leos starting at 15 grams and AFT's starting at 6 grams. At that size they were at least 2 months old and eating very well.
--a higher percentage of the AFT's took longer to eat on their own than the leos
--The AFT's did not really want to eat worms, though someone reports that the one I just sold her is now eating phoenix worms. The AFT's were started on crickets and the leos were started on mealworms.
