I just ordered one of these to see if perhaps it can be used as a pretty nice incubator this upcoming season. Seems to have some nice space, is aesthetically appealing, and has a nice big viewing window. If it doesn't work out, I'll just have more office furniture. Seems like a pretty sweet incubator for the price if it works out well enough.

I've been thinking about something like this, too. How do you get the little boards inside to separate the tupperware boxes with the eggs? Will you use heat tape? When you get it and set it up, please let us know how it works :main_yes: It is optically really appealing. I was always happy with my Hovabator, but my gecko sitters kept stumbling over it, and during power failure it probably won't hold the temperature as long as a "fridge" incubator. Good luck with it!

I am not sure about this particular model but I do know that cooler/warmers just like this can not be run on the warm mode for more than a few hours... Maybe 8 or ten hours at most...

They can and do malfunction if left in warm mode for too long... Also the temps are not very steady in warm mode either... They will fluctuate alot... You may have been better off buying a used mini fridge, some heat tape, and a good thermostat... If you were thinking that you were just going to plug this product in and incubate eggs, you were mistaken...

It is always a good idea to research a product before you buy it for use other than what it is made for...

I really hate to add to Gregg's bad news, but I bought a VERY lightly used wine fridge (they used it a month) about 5 years ago for a couple chicken eggs for my nephews. After about 1.5 days, the fridge pooped out. Learned lesson!

Dido on greggs statement, sorry. a used mini fridge for cheep and modify it or even better get a broken fridge for free, people get rid of their busted fridges all the time you don't need them to cool just need it for the insulation and the seal add some heat tape and a good thermastat and your almost all set.

Yes, I looked at that quality in other mini-warmer/cooler units, but this one is supposed to avoid the problem. If it does crap out during its testing, I'll just return it.

The superficial resemblance is interesting.

I'm sure my foreign linguistic abilities are worse. :)

Exact same product. Compared to the European prices mentioned, this is a steal. I am calibrating it now, too, to compare with multiple thermocouples to make sure it's not going to betray me it . Mine is operating within one degree F of what it says on the display. By the time the display claims a shift of 1-2 degrees, it kicks back in to regulate, but the probes tell me the internal temperature is varying by, again, only about one degree.
