how long will the female gecko dig before she lays eggs? today is day three.

Probably as long as she wants to. Sometimes the female will dig and not lay. It's happened with mine and it's very annoying, especially if you're anticipating eggs.

We have one that is annoying us right now. It has also been about 3 days. If your gecko was a digger before that makes it even harder to determine. You just have to check periodically until the eggs are laid or reabsorbed.
