Where's a good place to get a decent priced digital scale? The only thing that I've found in the past year or so is a pocket one, and I want a normal sized one that's not a million dollars.

I bought mine on eBay, too. I found it was harded than I thought it would be to find one that had a big enough weighing surface, that measured in grams, AND that had an accuracy within one gram. This is my scale's successor: http://www.myweigh.com/mediumscales_KD7000.html Mine is the KD-600 and works just fine, as the improvements they put into this one aren't necessarily beneficial to weighing geckos. After the fact, I found that getting one (based on my own criteria) at Wal*Mart or Target probably would've been financially comparable.

I had the same problem Heather had about the hard time finding one with a large enough weighing surface. I ended up getting a very small one on ebay ($4.99 + $4 S/H) with 200g capacity and accuracy within 0.1g. The weighing surface is extremel small (probably 2in x 2.5in) so I use a cup I have thats edges extend out on a 45 degree angle, tare that, then put my leo in that and it works perfectly.

i'm looking on ebay again... i'm seeing that the ones that look the best have a 10g accuracy... would that create a problem?

TIP: If the surface area is not large enough for the gecko to sit on, take one of the hides and place it on the scale. Zero out the scale or record the weight. Next place the gecko in the hide, subtract this weight from what was recorded and then you have your weight. I have those black plastic hides for the cool ends. I just flip them over this way the geckos stay still enough to get their weights.

You have to look at product description tab instead of just the basic descripton to see the weighing measurements the 1st link form office depot does:
measurement types
gram; kilogram; ounce; pound

the 2nd link does
measurement types
gram/ounce/pound

Gotcha. They all look good, in that case.

I happened on a weight watchers scale at a garage sale a month ago. It's perfect! Has a good-sized clear bowl and weighs in grams or ounces and is digital. All for $4.

Im not sure if that first one does grams since it doesn't say it does.

The 2nd one looks really nice.

The 3rd too small for me at only 2.6x3.8"

The 4th one is too small too (pocket size)
