Keep in mind that if you did this, you'd have to make sure that each side of the tank has a warm side and a cool side for each gecko, and that there'd be enough room for three hides, a water dish, calcium dish, etc each. I suppose it could be done with some creativity depending on tank size.

It depends on what size tank you have. I have a 55Gal aquarium that I have tipped on its side and split in half to make 2 tanks for my geckos. I put the heat tape in the middle of the tank so it is split in two down the divider I put up. And if the time comes and I want one large tank all I have to do is remove the divider and adjust the tiles and we're all set to go.

If you use tile on the bottom you could use a THIN piece of plywood cut 1/4 inch smaller then the size of the cage front to back. Place the bottom of the plywood in the space between the tiles. My tiles ended up being about 1/8 inch shorter then the floor of my tank so it worked well to hold the bottom of the board. To hold the sides in place while being able to keep the option of removing the divider and converting the tank back into one tank get a rubber tube and cut it to length for the HEIGHT of your tank (need 2 pieces). Cutting as straight as you can slice down ONE side of the tube and fit one on each side of your plywood. Slide the wood down into the tank in the middle and it should stay pretty well on its own. If you are worried about it sliding you can take ticky tack (the rubber stuff that you use to stick posters to the wall and can peal it off) and place a glob on either side at the top to hold it.

The reason I didn't use plexiglass was because I didn't know at the time if I was going to be housing 2 males in the divided tank or not. If that is the case then you wouldn't want them to see each other and aggravate each other or try to fight.

You can put contact paper on either side of the plexiglass (or construction paper, but once one of my babies climbed up the construction paper and got stuck in the tape I was using to attach it to the plexiglass).

I'm planning on splitting a 20 long into two sections. I was going to use a small piece of plywood with 2" square stake like pieces about 3 inches long screwed to the bottom of the plywood for feet (one on each end but opposite sides). I was planning on putting my UTH right in the middle of the aquarium, then once seperated my warm ends would be in the middle for both sides. I'm going to try it but not sure if it will work, just my idea. Might work, might not? I'll let you guys know if it works out.
