Nope, what for? I can't change what's in them, anyway, so I avoid handling them. I haven't had a monster egg so far, either. IF I had one, I might weigh it out of curiosity ;)

That's the only reason I've ever weighed one. I was curious how big my monster was. Other than that, I've never weighed one.

Chris, this wasn't directed at you, but your thread did get me thinking about it.
I have seen several posts in the past where people talked about the weights of their eggs. Sometimes with weekly growth rates.
It got me wondering why they would chance moving the eggs so much, as well as subjecting them to the obvious temperature fluctuations.
Thanks to those who have and will participate in this poll.

I've never weighed an egg. They either hatch or they don't but I do believe the more they're handled, the more chance of something going wrong that may have been avoided. The really big eggs I've experienced seemed to take on more water than others, just from my observation thru the window on one of our incubators. This has happened with and without direct substrate contact.

As soon as I find them I get them in the incubator. I try to handle them as little as possible. I might candle them here and there, but that's about it. So far it's worked.
