I'v noticed that when i got my leo i really didnt know much about them to tell the truth (its amazing how much i learned in under a year) i didnt have a heat matt and she was dark. now that i have everything she is bright. Altough she is going thru shed ( i will be hating the next couple days lol)

well my dad used 2 use uth when he bred snakes and that was in the early 90's he said they was flimsy but they worked and as i said why lights are useless they need belly heat for digestion

Well, I wouldn't say lights are *useless* if they keep the ambient temp high enough, but they're definitely not the best or the easiest way to go with nocturnals. :main_cool3:

I know you've probably heard this too, but I'll say it anyway. If you are keeping your leo on sand, it can tend to get dusty and dull the coloring of the gecko in the same manner of a shed. You've probably also heard the sand debate but I'll make that suggestion too: sand isn't the best substrate. with a uth you may also think to switch to paper towels or even paper napkins, (hint most colleges have loads of these for free in bathrooms, dorms, or dining halls. Also, construction paper, or most other types of paper are very gecko friendly. if you want a single purchase type of substrate that acts the same as the others i mentioned you may consider shelf liner. Changing substrate may help bring out that extra color in your gecko. By the way what morph is he/she?
