THATS AWESOME KELLI! i know how excited you are about this project! that first one WOW one band and that little dot! woohooo i am so excited for you! these black-eyed pearls are gonna be SUPER cool!
LOL well I was kind of playing a joke on you guys. They are actually NOT from a Black Pearl x Eclipse breeding! They are from a male called "Black Eyed Pea" who has 2 solid black eyes and a female called "Black Pearl" who also has two solid black eyes. I was hoping for solid black eyed babies from these two but instead got... NORMALS! LOL it's ok I will breed them to each other next year and see if anything comes of it. I do love the parents of these guys though. And I love the name "Double Het for Black Eyed Pearl" LOL. BTW I gave Black Pearl her name many years ago, before the Black Pearl morph even existed. Here they are...
The male was a rescue that Marcia got several years ago. She fattened him up and sent him to me to see what I could come up with. I did breed him to a Bell female and then bred the offspring together but at the time I was not that into my gecko projects and kind of lost track of everything. I never did produce any solid eyed babies from that group but again, I was not too organized at the time and so basically I am starting over with him.
Black Pearl I purchased off of kingsnake several years ago. She was missing most of her toetips and as you can see has a regen tail. My guess is that she is an older female, and in fact this is the first year I have ever gotten viable eggs from her that hatched. She gave me two clutches that had two eggs (both clutches have hatched now) and her last clutch was one egg that is currently incubating. I incubated all of the eggs at 85 degrees.
Here are pics of the first babies that hatched from the pairing that I took on the 3rd of this month (the others I posted are from her second clutch).
