Woke up this morning, checked on everyone before work, my little patty, Drogo, was nowhere to be found. Took out all of his hides, his paper, everything. He wasn't in there. He's only 3 inches long, 5 grams. He's not big enough to escape the enclosure he was in. I'm at a loss. I think he might have crawled up into a hide I put in there...I'm not sure though. And I can't get in there. If he's in there, he's stuck in there good and I doubt he can come out.

Any ideas, guys?

It's like..rubberized plastic. And hollow. Really hard to break :/

I didn't buy it, came with one of my "rescue" geckos. I noticed someone broke out a part of the bottom and that my geckos could crawl up in there. But I didn't think they could go up as far as I think he did...

Give him some time to come out. maybe offer a fat wax worm(for his size)at the entrance. no need to panic.

How long is "some time"? It really looks impossible...I have no idea how he would have gotten up there in the first place. But it's either that...or he spontaneously grew sticky pads on his feet and slipped through the very small crack between the top of the tank and the wall.

Then put the hide back in his viv and leave a treat for him. I'm sure he'll come out. the more you hold the hide trying to get him out, the longer he may stay in there.

oh, I'm so sorry! I agree with what everybody else said, leopard geckos are pretty hardy and he should come out on his own. I would wait until tomarrow to try to get him out, if you leave him alone in his tank overnight he might come out late when no one's up and it's quiet.

Some pics of the hide I think he's in. The space looks really huge when its turned on its side but about an inch up it gets super tiny. I would swear nothing could fit up there if I didn't hear him in there...

And, for reference, Drogo is my avatar. He's only that big :/

I had the same thing happen with a ceramic tree limb. I was at my witts end too, but it was two of them. They always came out at night but when i turned the light on to get the limb out they would shot right back up into it. I was amazed how they could fit but they did and they loved it. I finally snatched it while they were eating one night and patched it up. Not to worry, he will come out.

Leave him alone. Remember these are desert animals I'm sure he could go a week without incident. Offer a cricket or waxy his stomach will lead him out.

LOST and FOUND (ESCAPEES)

UNLESS there is something unusual about the ENTRY hole....for exit.......
At 4 grams / 3 inches.....what he/she got into he/she can get out of
when desired.....If you keep worms out, keep fresh ones nightly,
count them, missing some? Getting out when wants to.
Worried about being stuck.....get or take it to a wood working shop,
Lowes, other lumber store, a high school shop class teacher, hardware store....etc.
Call in advance and tell them you have a strange emergency.
and get it cut open.
All will be ready to assist you......................
You can even cover the tank with towels to make it dark
so you don't have to stay up all night looking for it to come out.
Take care. HJ

HJ, the entry/exit wasn't designed to be crawled around in. It got smaller and larger in places, he wandered and wove himself into a place that he couldn't get out of. He'd just shed before he got up there, too, and looked to be a little bigger than when he went in :|

Anyway, we ended up breaking it open with a hammer and chisel. He was stuck, but strangely calm. Climbed right out onto my hand and I brought him back to his cage. He curled up on the heater and went to sleep lol

Crisis averted :)
