I have always heard that first time breeders usually only lay 1 or 2 eggs and even then they might not be fertile. I got my female tremper albino from a chain store she was 7 gram when I got her. Now a little over a 1 1/2 years she is 80 grams. I put her with a male for the first time she has laid 5 eggs and she has 2 more on the way. Is this luck? Husbandry and proper food and heat or all the above? Just wondering.

Brandon

P.S. I hear all this stuff about the gov wanting to ban reptiles but if they do that shouldnt they ban all dogs and cats? Arent more people killed every year by dogs and cats then reptiles? God forbid they should use commen sense becuase then they might actually do the right thing.

All of my first-time breeders lay reasonable amounts of eggs their first seasons. Each individual gecko will have its own pace for this sort of thing. I'd consider it a bonus.

More people are killed by people. We should ban people.

This is my and my geckos first year breeding. Out of 5 gecko's I have 20 + eggs and still going. Only one laid as few as 4 and she is under weight. Congrats and good luck with your eggs!

More people are harmed by politicians. We should ban politicians.

I have two famales and they are breeding for the first time. I had to throw the first 4 eggs out because I didn't have an incubator set up. I set one up a few days ago and then I was worried that I might not see anymore eggs. But after reading this I am very hopeful. Plus, last night, I caught the male and the tremper female in the act. They didn't seem too shy when I turned the light on-- they just kept going at it.

You could always setup a deli cup with moist moss in it and put it in your enclosure where it's warm in the future. It's not perfect, but the eggs would have at least a chance.
