I was wondering if anybody knew how many eggs a female can lay in her lifetime. I have a first year female that has laid 24 eggs so far, and has 25 & 26 almost ready to go (4 of these eggs might have been other females, but I’m 90% certain they were hers)! I plan to breed for this trait. But was wondering do you guys think a line that lays this much would be able to produce as long (in seasons), as lines that lay 8-14 eggs a year?

Just curious, I’m excited to hear your opinions.

I haven't looked at my data lately, but I've been finding that my geckos that have done really well in their first year, have dropped off pretty quickly. An example is my first female stripe who laid 20 eggs her first year, all of which hatched. I think she had about 10 hatchlings last year, and for some reason this year she kept laying eggs out of the lay box, only about 8-10 eggs all together and only produced 2 hatchlings.
