This is our first year breeding and we have 4 eggs that we are incubating at room temp (73-75). The first eggs were laid on 5-26 and the second clutch were laid on 6-20, so they will not be hatching for at least another month.

We are going out of town(Disney World) and will be having a relative watch our collection. I have been opening the egg container(Air tight) once a week to let fresh air in and we will be out of town for 11 days. Will they be ok or should I ship them over with our geckos and have him open the container up for us.

Thanks,
Don
P.S. Any Crested breeders on the way between Chicago and Orlando, please feel free to post a link as we would make a stop to shop if it is on the way.

I wouldnt take the eggs either. 11 days is nothing for an egg. Shipping them will almost definately kill them, they will be bounced around and who knows how the box will be treated. I am kindof on the way to Orlando from Chicago but I am sold out of cresteds for now.

If you just put a few holes in the container then there would be no need for someone to open the container and the eggs might be better off too.

Ashleigh, it sounds like hatchrite is being used, in which if holes were put in the containers, it would dry out the hatchrite, which would in turn dry out the eggs.

I am using perlite in a .8/1 ratio in an airtight container. I will be leaving these at home and will open them up right before we leave.
When I said ship I meant drive them an hour away(sorry for any confusion)
Thanks for all your responses
