Eggbound??

Hi so my leopard gecko was 15 days pregnant yesterday and she dug a hike on the lay box she sat in there for hours but no eggs.shes in there now and has left occasionally is she eggbound? Can it really take this long?

It can take a while. You should get eggs every month so think of it like that. Once laid she’ll take another 30 or so days.

Sometimes it can be 2 weeks and sometimes longer. I've had geckos take 6 weeks. Keep an eye on her to see whether there's big behavior changes like lethargy and lots of straining, or a runny yellow discharge. It's a hard call because on the one hand, we want to give them time and space and not stress them out and on the other hand we want to intervene if they're in trouble. I think that egg binding is not so common in healthy, well nourished leopard geckos (but I have no data to back that up!).
