Its actually a wild tarantula. I spotted him on a hike when we still lived in San Diego. I squealed like a little girl, did a happy dance, a quick look for rattle snakes and cactus before I dropped down on my belly and got some photos. At which point I got the :main_rolleyes: from my husband. I'm not 100% positive if its an Ebony or Bronze. Kind of leaning more towards the California Ebony. But I could be wrong as I'm not all that familiar with the differences between the two.

That's a cool story!! :p You should become an adventure blogger or so. Very suspenseful :main_yes:

Haha Thanks. I love getting out and photographing the little things I can find. Might have to consider something like that. Although I don't think I can blog worth a crap. Haha
