Emerine question

Okay, so I have a question about emerines. I've seen a lot of pictures of emerines and I just don't see the 'green' color on some of them. Is it that they're from emerine parents? Or am I missing something? I know they're not supposed to be super green, and on some, I can see some, but we're talking about more than just the green that some have on their heads, right? Thanks in advance!

Emerines began with lots of nice Emerine tons on their body. The problem is once people bought an Emerine they would breed it to something else and still label it as an Emerine. Now it is almost impossible to find a TRUE emerine since they have now been crossed to the point of being just another orange gecko. The name is used for marketing now and most lines do not derive from true Emerines but rather crosses of crosses. Always be weary when purchasing any gecko that comes from a specific line of animals. If the breeder is not reputable or you have any reason to believe they dont have them...then just spend the money for guaranteed genetics. Everyone wants the cheapest price for the best morphs...thats why people have emerines which look like normals and label their offspring as Emerines. It only hurts the market for that morph.

AMEN!

someone posted something earlier in the year about "what do people want to see more of, and my choice was "more green". I hatched out a female tangerine, that was from a shtct x Murphy patternless. this girl's bands are GREEN.. but due to the fact that I KNOW what her lineage is, she's NOT an emerine.

NOW, to hijack a bit, but still on topic, a question I am debating, is... when she's old enough, being very green, but knowing she's NOT an emerine, would it hurt to pair her to my HISS Emerine male? or should I stick to the original plan (before she turned green...) of pairing her to my tornado x MP male....and going THAT route...

cheers.

I would make that pairing if green is what you want. Emerines only came around due to selective breeding. No reason you can't work on your own selective bred green project.

Thanks a TON for the info...that makes much more sense. I'm not all that interested in owning one (but maybe I would be if I saw a nice one!!!) I was just curious. Again, thanks for clearing that up! :) Oh, and DJ...good luck with your project! Some pics would be cool!!

LOL not only is she the greenest gecko I own, she's the most rambunctious and fastest... she's a bit on the crazy side... I'll try to get some pics. I've tried before but only usually fail.... Soon for sure though, I'll try today.

My first leo (in my avatar) is orange with green undertones, when I first posted in here wondering what morph she was some people said she looked Emerine-ish. I know she's not, but I am still wondering what she is!

I'm in the middle of breeding my Tangerine tornado hyglo albino with my Murphy patternless. Do any of you know if it is common to have more greens in the offspring? :book2:

this one came from my shtct x MP, My Tornado x MP turned out tangerine... A very nice one at that ;) I only had one clutch from her though so maybe others would have been different. I sold the sib at a young age...

** oh and Thanks :D I like this one a lot...

Awesome! I'm just hoping that he will mate with her since I have tried her with another male and nothing happened. Not sure if it has to do with her re-gen tail or not? Purchased her that way.
