Enigma Eye????

Got a quick question for those who have worked with the Enigma or have seen similar traits.

Can the Enigma eye trait be passed on without the other characteristics we normally associate with the Enigma?

I have an Albino het Raptor that came from Nova x Banded Albino. I swear that I am seeing the Vivid Orange color that is seen in the Enigma eye. It's showing in both of the eyes. The Clutchmate is not showing this color.

I will see if I can get some good pics. This guy only hatched out a week ago. Also it's a big baby. Twice the size as hatchings that are 3 weeks old.

Thanks for the response Kelli. You choose the proper name for these guy's for sure.:main_yes:

I will see if I can get some eye shots. This is an angry little guy for sure though. Allways screaming and trying to bite me when I clean his cage.:main_laugh:

I bet you have an enigma Paco..... maybe:p I hatched a few tremper enigmas;) and way more siblings and orange eyes is tremper enigma if you ask me. Also, I hatched a few tremper enigmas that didn't LOOK enigma for awhile.

Strange things happening with these things for sure, so anything is possible.

I've noticed "the eyes" on a few that hatched out looking like normal (non-enigma) albino hatchlings?!? I'm using a Tremper Enigma het Raptor male, not a Nova though. Who knows anything anymore? :D

Brian... Has the eye color stayed or gone away after they have gotten bigger. You have the same chance to produce an Enigma that I do!!!:main_thumbsup: Our boy's did come from the same breeder. :main_yes:

The biggest Tremper enigmas that I have are still under 20g, so I'm far from evaluating their eyes just yet. I figure once they're 30+ grams, I'll take a closer look at each of their eyes. I'm assuming that the eyes will change regardless--the difference between the Tremper enigma eyes when incubated at 88 or 82 is staggering...all my female incubated ones hatch out with eyes that appear Eclipse, but so far, they've all lightened with age/time. I've had some extremely weird eyes this year, no Black or red just yet, but a VERY wide range of funky enigma eyes...and some of the sibs eyes have been almost as "enigmatic"?!? Time will tell, hopefully... :D
