well my first 2 enigma x bell eggs attemped to hatch yesterday and today. the first hatchling slit the egg but died before being able to hatch. the second made it out of the egg today but died shortly after. is this a common problem with the enigmas? or just bad luck? Thanks Kirk

Bad luck.... I had a few issues with first year breeders and a suppliment change early on myself. Once I got that solved my hatch rate went to 95% which is good in my opinion.

Hi Kyle-

I have not had a problem like this with my baby Enigmas. Perhaps others will chime in as well. I'm sorry the babies didn't make it :-(

Sorry to hear that you lost them!! I have not had that problem so far with enigmas. I have however had the problem with a few others. Just today I had a albino mack snow slit the egg, stick his head out and I assumed that everything was ok. Came back later to check on it and it was dead. Never made it any further. I think sometimes it is just the weaker ones being weeded out.

I have not experienced that issue with the enigmas (knock on wood). I've had the same luck with them as any of my other breeding groups. I am very sorry about your babies, though. :(

Thanks for the replies! i only had concerns about it being a possible problem with the enigmas because this has only happened to me a few times and never both eggs of a clutch.
just a side note they were both enigmas. Kirk
