Okay, the only thing I could think of to do before that is maybe set up a heat lamp, and a moist hide. I might even try a human trap, one where he steps on a lever, and it set the trap, so if he goes to the mealworms, water, heat, and shelter, you have him. That way if you don’t get there in time, it doesn’t matter. Other than that, you just have to go through every room in your house, apartment, ect. Then once you are done searching those rooms, block them off. And I mean search everything in those rooms. If you have a vacuum cleaner, with a hose, check inside that. A piece of furniture pushed up to the wall, don’t just look under it, and take it away from the wall. Really, any place that is larger than 1/8 of an inch check it (I’m assuming she is the leopard gecko in your avatar)

I hope that helps, and let us know when you find her.

Also they are great hiders also. I had one that was MIA for 2 hours and I torn apart and looked under anything and everything. I also have a Male Mack Snow that has popped the lid of his tub and I was lucking to see him before any of the cats found him. I have since moved him.

I have heard many stories of geckos MIA, some for several months, and they show up just fine! Everyone's given you really great advice thus far, the only thing I really have to add is that the gecko is most likely hiding under something and is stationary most of the time. Just do a really thorough search under anything that the gecko could posibly fit under (as already mentioned, they can crawl under pretty much anything that's a fraction of an inch if it's not a full grown adult). Geckos do really seem to like to hide in vaccuums, too! I definitely recommend doing a very thorough check of yours as a starting place ;)

I am very sorry, you must be very stressed out, and I wish you the best of luck finding her healthy and safe!!

I had one go well over a year....no joke. My parents called me one day and said they found her when they were moving....and we had dogs. I would check under the fridge or by the heater around 3-4am. Thats were I generally find wayward critters. Do you have any cats?

I have had an escapee. I found her in the middle of the night when I got up to check on my dd. She was surring across the hallway. So you might have a better time looking for her at night when she is more active.

I had a babie patternless get out before. It was one of the first two geckos I got, I got them together. I found him I think it was nine months later, under my deep freeze because it was warm there, adn it turns out it was drippind water for humidity too. He was pretty much the same size, I think he was living by eating spiders. He had MBD really bad. I let a friend take him, he had him getting better for about a month or two, but he couldn't make it, didn't have it in him... He was a trooper for making it that long though...

The only good part of this story is my mom was the one that saw him lol. At about 5 in the morning. So guess who she woke up? I couldnt catch him... Me and a friend went home at lunch, gotta love open campus high schools, and I managed to catch him. It was a interesting day. The only day my Zoology/Anatomy teacher LET me sleep in class. I told him the story. He has had lizards and snakes, and had an iguana at teh time.

Have you found your leo yet?

I had this happen to me once. I was cleaning out my leos cage, the phone rang, and I went to answer it. I left the top off by accidate. When I can back he was no where to be found. Then I looked under my bed, very clustered under there. :) I was looking through everything, and here comes a small head peeking out from behind a box. He was hissing too. I was just glad I found him. He was a baby so it made it hard to find that little darling. ;)

I found an enigma that is an excape artist in a box of deli cups 3 feet off the ground on a shelf unit..... damn that thing is spiderman!! They usually go for warm areas, but a secure area seems to be more important to them.

Check everywhere that has a 1 inch gap and inside clothing, curtains if they touch the ground, sofa, magazine rack.... you get the idea:main_thumbsup:

I wouldnt worry too much. I had a my normal male which I've had for five years escape soon after I moved to Florida. He was missing for two weeks when my fiance found him in our closet on a pile of clothes licking his eyeball. So since then he has been moved to a 10 gallon tank since he fought his way out of rubbermaids with ease.

She is CUTE! Glad she is back where she should be.

When I was a kid I had many "baby" red-earred sliders. One climbed out of her dish by using the palm tree that came with the dish. We found her a couple of weeks later on GREEN carpet.

So glad that you found her!!!! My suggestion is buy some tank clips to ease your worry of another escape. They are easy for moms and dads to pop off, but nearly impossible for little fingers :main_thumbsup:
