"geckos diets do not consist of any vegetables or fruit"

thats what my "The Leopard Gecko In Captivity" book by Robbie Hamper says

I've never considered giving a leopard gecko fruit or vegetables. I suppose even though its not in their natural or staple diet, a cut up grape, a bite of watermelon or a quarter sized leaf of lettuce surely cant be bad for a leo in any way right?

I was wondering if they ate fruit too, since we feed our mealies fruit.. they are getting the nutrients from the fruit from the mealies.. ?

yeah, why go thru all that trouble to gut-load when you can just give em the source? LOL! theres a thread that one guy posted about his gecko eating a cherry tomato somwhere here i think.
