hey i have a question i cant find wheat bran anywhere so i just got quaker oats will this be ok for now? and how long does it take to turn into beetles?im starting a small colony of 500 right now but im going to build it up buying 500 every 2 weeks till i have a stable population? i have some amevias that would eat 500 a day if they could so i know im going to need a huge population of mealies to feed them and my geckos

I don't think it would be too cold. Maybe put a heat lamp above your container if possible?

I have a question regarding the sifter. I have one identical to the one you're using but I'm having problems with it. I'm using wheat bran and the only thing falling through the screen is dust. Is that how it's supposed to work? It makes it hard to sort out the worms with all the bedding and shed still in the sifter.
