I was born with 6 toes on my right foot. In ancient Ireland, girl babies that were born with with red hair and a 6th digit were considered to have supernatural powers, and were usually worshipped as demi-goddesses. LOL!

As far as a 6th toe on a leopard gecko, I wouldn't even worry about it.

So maybe these leos have supernatural powers lol ;)

That really is interesting looking. I still wouldn't breed him though.

And yes Marcia, I was speaking in terms of my opinion when I was saying undesirable.

we studied polydactyly (more fingers and toes than normal) It's the same in all animals. It is a recessive trait that is passed on when two parents carry the gene.

What class said that? Everything I've read says it's a dominant gene.

In my opinion there is no harm in breeding a six-toed leo. Heck there is a whole museum dedicated to the "Hemingway Cat" and the Pixie-Bob line of cats are even allowed to be polydacts as show cats.

If I'm not mistaking a Hemmingway isn't even a Hemmingway cat when it isn't a polydact! ;)
