Extreme Heat on the East Coast 7/22

This may not seem that extreme to you southerners but its crazy hot in the North East. Combine the heat with the humidity that we have and its a nightmare. This is the heat that we had in my area yesterday (not to mention the AC is broken in my car so double suck :main_thumbsdown

I measured the concrete temps here the other day just because my feet were burning from walking barefoot. It read 137 degrees.

Ohio was ambient temps of 101 with out the heat index. AC has not stopped in a week!!!

It's kinda funny to me I'm in Florida and you guys seem to be getting the worse of it..jk

We're having it here, too. I think there are 7 related heat deaths so far in the Chicago area. Our A/C decided to stop working right and the repair guy doesn't see anything wrong with it. It got up to 89 in our house. We went out to buy window air conditoners to use now. My car also doesn't have a/c. I had to use my husband's car yesterday to run errands. I'm ready for fall. Fall temps are my absolute favorite.

We're having my daughter's graduation party tomorrow. I really hope the A/C at the hall works really well.

I've have the high temps too. Thankfully, the rain has cooled it off to about the 90 mark, but now the humidity is insufferable. Yesterday (and all weekend) I've been trying to have a yard sale. Instead of getting up this morning, I slept for 10 hours because I was out in it all day yesterday, and because I could hear the storm raging outside.

108° in New Jersey yesterday. 102° today. Tomorrow it will break it will be a chilly 95°. I cant wait for the 10° temps of Dec. and Jan. You can always put more clothes on but you cant take enough off and not go to jail.

Here in MA too. I spent the end of the week driving around in my car that has no AC and I'm a home care therapist. I have no AC in my house by choice and (as I posted in another thread) my living room topped out at 96 on Friday. The geckos are huddled together in the humid hide.

In Florida we Go from our AC house to a AC car to AC job !

Yeah see its normal for Florida and other places but not in the North. We get to suffer through the heat and the cold now! I think its time I packed up and moved >_<
