I hope this has a happy ending, I will definitely be following the thread.

Oh dear :(

Seeing an animal in this condition is heart breaking to say the least.

I really hope she pulls through, i think it's admirable that you are trying to give her a chance and even if she doesn't make it (touch wood) you gave her the best conditions shes probably ever known.

If it was me i would report the store. Perhaps prevent them from being able to keep and sell reptiles? They clearly don't have either the time or conscience to do it properly.

All the best, keep us posted.
Lill.

Day 2: couldn't get into town today but am making some calls to see if I can get the Hills A/D pet food. Got the little guy to eat more of the baby food (mixed some leopard gecko multi-vitamin and pedailite with it for now) I think he ate more than what he did at both feedings yesterday :D Should I continue the 2 feedings a day? His activity is about the same. He wont use the hides I provided but I put in a stuffed animal that holds a blanket on the warm side and he has been sitting under the blanket for a while now.

Yeah it wasn't much but it was something. I've been keeping it dark in my room, keeping the shades drawn and the only light on is the heat light for my other gecko's enclosure. He opened his eyes more today as well :main_yes:

Any progress is still progress, no matter how small. The danger is when there are no positive changes. He didn't get that way suddenly, it will take a while to recover. Hopefully he will :)

:main_no:That's horrible! I never seen anything like that. :( It's so heart breaking. I hope your litte guy pull through. :( I'm just speechless cause that pictures just breaks my heart to see how careless people whose works at store didnt commit to care for its animals. they are in for money. That's so awful. :(

Keep us updated too.

Wishing you all the luck in the world with this guy! It's a big responsibility to clean up after someone else's mess, but it'll be worth it if he pulls through in the end.

Then you need to stay away from rescuing dogs. I have seen MANY an emaciated dog that made that gecko look healthy. It's sad and horrid what an animal will endure to live and those people that let that poor gecko get like that aught to be reported and have their reptile license removed.

Came home and found him in the humid hide :main_yes: I have some pics of his set up.

He went right back in after his feeding tonight.

whole thing looks bare but it does its purpose. (top temp is the temp over the UTH and bottom temp is the ambient)

Just weighed him. A whopping 3 grams :( It is so weird seeing this little guy compared to my full grown male. 3 vs. 127 is quite the diffrence

Geezus, do they even weight that little when they're just hatched? Poor fella. I have faith, you were meant to find him, you'll bring him back. Now just make sure you take lotsa pics so that you can file cruelty complaints against them and get their exotics permit revoked.

Thankfully I don't see many horribly emaciated animals.
I can't even imagine an animal being skinny enough to make this gecko look healthy, how awful! :(

His set-up is adorable. Very cozy little hospital tank. :)

It is sad, and is why I donated over 400 hours to rescues last year. We all do what we can whether it's dogs or herps. :main_thumbsup:

Well he isn't looking too good now :( He ate a little before I went to work but when I got home he didn't even lift his head when I took the screen off. I couldn't get him to even lick a little water off his nose let alone any food. At this point I doubt he is going to make it through the night.

I hope he pulls through it even as uncomfortable as he is I'm sure he's glad of some piece and quiet for a change of little kids shouting and staring through there tanks every day of the week but atleast he now has a chance of getting back to health

What about a B12 shot? My herp guy tells me that if/when Loki (our ball python) goes on hishunger strikes that we could give him a shot of B12 to increase appatite. Can something like this work for your leo?

Well he didn't make it through the night. I'm sad but at least he got to experience a loving home outside of a pet shop's dirty tank. I tried.
