False pregnancy

I have a young first timer in with a male this season. She is definitely ovulating and the male has bred her, but no eggs visible yet. Even so, every 2 weeks like clockwork she goes into the lay box and digs and digs. Usually she just digs around aimlessly, but this time she did the whole 9 yards: dig a hole, squat over the hold with tail up, move the back feet as if turning a new egg . . . but nothing's there! I've heard of practicing, but this is ridiculous.
