Tonight i offered my gecko a meal worm by hand, and she took it! Most of you probably do that on a daily basis but i never even tried it. She just took it like it was no big deal but i thought it was pretty cool.

It's really cool until they decide that's the only way they want to eat. I have 2 cagemates that I have to hand feed crickets.

I agree it is another cool way to enjoy our pets......But since Conan my 123 gram male did a gaiter type slice of my thumb, I will continue using wooden forceps for my "hand feeding.".........Take care

I never hand feed geckos. My very 1st box turtle I ever had, she and I bonded on the 1st day I bought her. I could hand feed her anything, crickets, worms, mealworms, even apple slices. Since I lost her a few years ago, I have not bonded as good as I did with Spots my 1st ever box turtle with any reptile. I have bonded well with alot of my leopards but nothing like I did with Spots. I have feed some with tongs but not going to try bare fingers.

All the leos I have and have ever had would feed by hand.. I dont generally anymore because its easier and less time consuming to just fill there dishes with mealies lol.
