Female leopard gecko not laying eggs

I had two leopard geckos for 13 years and my male died in December. Since then my female hasn’t laid any eggs, she’s laid eggs every year but none this year. She’s not showing any signs of egg binding, I can’t see or feel any eggs. I’m wondering if it’s normal for them to stop at a certain age? Or is it because our male has died? I thought leopard geckos laid eggs even if they weren’t kept with a male.

Very few leopard geckos lay eggs when not kept with a male. I bred leopard geckos until 2018. Currently I have 24 female leopard geckos, some of which were breeders in the past. This season exactly 1 leopard gecko has laid 1 egg. Last season one leopard gecko laid several clutches. The female you have may not be laying eggs because there is no male and also may be getting too old to lay.

Oh thanks for the information! As I always kept my two together I had no idea that females don’t lay without a male. We incubated some of my females eggs over the years and had three hatchlings, all for people who wanted a leopard gecko. I assumed that females would lay even without a mate, you learn something new everyday. At least I know not to worry about her, she’s been absolutely fine since our male died.
