Fighting females

So Morgan and Spike (both female) are housed together. Have been since the beginning of May with no problems. Both are steadily gaining weight and are obviously getting enough to eat.

However, lately I've been noticing some scratches/scrapes on both of them. I assumed they'd gotten into a fight but I never saw it, and since they weren't seriously hurt I left them together. Last night I was up later than usual and as Morgan approached her feed bowl, Spike just attacked her. Spike ate all 20 worms from that bowl last night and I'm wondering how often this happens. Ironically, Morgan's tail is fatter than Spike's--she weighs more.

One thing that worries me is that Morgan's become even MORE skittish in the last week or so. Is this because of the fighting?

Should I separate them? I can't afford another heater until next Friday, though, so I'd really like to keep them together at least until then...idk.

Why would they suddenly start fighting anyway?

When we had multiple geckos in the same tank we would feed them separately.

generally i hand-feed them with tweezers, but i also leave a dish of mealies in the cage in case they get hungry later/didnt have enough when i fed them. Sometimes they're like toddlers..munch a little, walk away...realize theyre still hungry, munch some more..ooh what's over here lol
