lol yeah. If I had the money to spend, I'd be a little more liberal with it.. But as a student with no real income, it's difficult. It's actually painful to give this money up lol

I'm sure your leos will love it .I have 16 animals and it was a pain to have 10 gallon tanks all over the place.good luck and keep us updated K !

Two separate units, but they're identical (except for the geckos in them) so I only took pics of one.

Here's what it looks like from the back:

From the front, without the doors or shelf liner put in:

And the finished product with Plexiglas doors in, white shelf liner, the geckos, and all their hides and bowls:

Sorry about the quality of the pics. My phone usually takes good ones but it was 1am when we finished and so the lighting wasn't the best

That is super nice I have never seen anything like that!!!!!!

Thanks! I actually found a similar design at boaphile plastics..their racks are AMAZING. But, I don't have 1 or 2k to spare, so I had to make it myself. It isn't plastic, obviously, but it's the same concept.

Should have all of the supplies in this weekend. It's really happening! I'm so excited.

I decided to go with flexwatt instead of heat cable. I'll have my dad figure out how to wire it lol

The internal adult cage dimensions will be: 6"(h) x 24"(w) x 12 1/4"(d). The internal hatchling cage dimensions will be: 6"(h) x 12"(w) x 12 1/4"(d) (the extra quarter inch on the floors is to allow 12x12 tiles a nice fit that doesn't interfere with the plexiglas doors)

The entire back will be screen to allow ample airflow. Front doors are plexiglas, with a glass hinge (like yo

What do you guys think? Have I forgotten anything major?

Looks good

Ugh, the thermostat I have can only be turned up to 94 degrees...and the temp reading on the floor was at 84. I slipped some cardboard underneath the shelf liner in the cage with the probe and put the probe on top of the liner. I'm now getting a reading of 95. Having cardboard directly on top of the heat tape, though, sort of scares me. All of the connections are secured and the solder, wires, even the cut ends are covered in electrical tape. Do you think it could still catch fire?

Khrysy my rack is a simple 24 tub racking using 2221 rubbermaid containers.it cost $280 totall just for the melamine.I snaked 42 continuous feet of 4" heat tape

I have some questions on this rack i am planning on building on of my own and want to know how you got the dividers in between the tubs on each shelf and what toolvyou used to cut down in the shelf so the heat tape is wink in and even with the surface nice rack to by the way I really like it

that is a great set up and neat idea.

What about using foil tape/tin foil to redirect the heat into the tank instead of using cardboard if you are worried about fire. Although I remember finding it a long time ago, that paper has a flash point of about 300F.

One question though what did you do to prevent any escaped meal worms or crickets from getting out of the tank under the glass front?

I haven't had to do anything to prevent it. The mealworms just don't get out and when I use any other feeders I feed in other containers.
