Not only the first leopard gecko I've hatched, but the first reptile. Parents were both Jungle Tremper Albinos. The father is an Aptor x Aptor offspring from Leopard Gecko Punk, and the mom is a Tangerine Jungle Albino from Gecko Genetics. She squaks like a little dinosaur, and is quite the biter as well.

While we're looking, I've got one quick incubation question. If I suspect the tupperware containers are getting a little dry, is it okay to mist them, eggs and all? Or would I want to carefully remove the eggs and mist, or just transfer them into a new container?

Oops, I meant to upload this picture. She's 4 days old. I saw a little tiny poop in there today, so I put a few mealworms in there. I need to get a better food dish though. The mealworms can wedge themselves in the side of these plastic water bottle caps.

Thanks for the congrats. The parents of this gecko were the first two leos I bought. I picked both of them because I liked their coloration and jungley patterns. I have an awesome RAPTOR male from Steve Sykes and some really nice females from Kelli. Hopefully some of their eggs will hatch soon.

Are all babies this spirited? This one is really vocal, and aggressively defends it's little cardboard box hide. I need to video tape her and put it on youtube or something.

One more pic here. :D

I occasionally spray my egg container when it seems too dry. I just try not to spray directly onto the eggs. No problems yet.

Nice hatchling.

Congrats! Hatchlings are usually pretty defensive, but they tend to calm down after you've had contact with them several times.

Thanks for the misting advice. I opened the lid to this gecko's tub this morning and she(?) let out her baby dinosaur cry as usual. I put a few mealworms in front of her.... she aggressively chowed two of them! I'm so glad she's eating.

"She" could be a "he" of course, we'll see. Should be a female, but there was a temperature spike one day at some point in the incubation. Early on I just had them in tupperwares in a rack drawer, but the temp probe got moved off the heat tape and it got pretty hot one time. Now I've got them in a Hovabator which is staying pretty stable around 86 degrees, and I'm gonna get an NS Reptiles incubator soon.
