This is the first hatchling of the year but I dont know what it is. It looks normal to me. I thought they were either shtct, albino or sunglow:confused:

It came from a male i bought as a sunglow and a shtctb het sunglow.

here is the baby

It looks like a non Albino (of course het. Albino with this father) that will become a SHB or at least a hypo - time will tell! Beautiful baby :main_yes: , congrats!

eric, be patient! it may look normal but in a month the dark bands will be almost gone. you ll end up with hypo tangerine het for albino. I ve include pics of a hatchling from a sunglo to shtct breeding. pics are day of hatching and 6 weeks later.

Thanks for the pics. That's a big change.
The clutch mate hatched but died shortly after, it was an albino. It was kindof thin and the egg still had a lot of yolk left in it.

Sorry to bring bad new but it almost seems from the pictures that he may have a kink at the base of his tail.

yea he does have a kink. I'm planning on keeping this one anyway since it was my first leo hatchling. The other one's tail looked good though and my temps stay at 81.5 to 82 degrees. I'm not sure what happened to it's tail

That little one will grow and become a very nice SH or SHT. It´s very light in the colors and have no dark on the back of the back legs, and that is a good sign. It will probably also get more or less carrottail...
Sorry to hear about the sibling :(

Thanks:) I still have about 10 more eggs from that group so maybe i will get at least one sunglow out of them.

Is it hard to tell sunglows from the normal albinos when they hatch?
