This is a picture from when we first got her. Her carrottail was amazing, but it has since faded to mostly white, though she has retained the black bands all the way down to the tip.

The hatchlings this morning. Excuse the quality, no flash

This makes all I've put into my geckos worth it. I'm really excited about the brighter of the two, the last band on her hips is broken and her head has some light marks that I'm curious as to how they'll turn out.

They sure are cute. Out of curiousity how long do breeders like yourself keep them before selling? I'm asking because they look very similar in size & coloring to my PetSmart leo. Congrats on your newbies.

Thanks!

My girlfriend works at a petshop here in town, and she said this was the size that they received geckos as hatchlings, too.
But I think this is much too small. I mean these hatched last night, they haven't had time to eat their first shed and move onto crickets yet. I'd keep them long enough to be confident that they were healthy and active.

Though, this is my first successful hatching, so I haven't had a chance to sell any yet, but on the smaller scale that I'm producing ( I have 22 geckos with 7 males) I would wait until they were juveniles or old enough that I could accurately assess their morph/pattern before I'd let them go.

My intent is really to produce the geckos I'm interested in and to improve the line, so all the 'nicest' ones would be heldback, I'd have to keep them long enough to know which is which.
I'd only hope to sell enough to support my gecko habit.

I can't see the pic of the dad. there is a red X but the mother is Awesome! That tail is Beautiful!. Too bad it did not stay that way. I would love to see a pic of her now. Congrats on your first hatchlings! If any of them end up with a tail like mom I want one if you let it go!

Congrats! I remember my first hatchlings, I was ecstatic! It's always a rule that you have to keep the first one ;).

Oh and we wait until they are about 15g to sell them as well, unless we want to see more of their adult colors first.
