Ok, so I was looking to get two Leo's at the reptile show, but after doing some research, I feel like cresties may be better for me to start out with. Any input would be great! THANKS!

I personally like cresties better. Cresties don't need light or heating like leos do, so that's easier. They do best in cages with more vertical space, since they like to climb; leo tanks have a larger footprint, so they aren't great if you're short on space (although there are ways to deal with that, using racks, stacking tanks, etc). The only food you'll need for a crestie is Crested Gecko Diet (CGD) sold under the Repashy or T-Rex brands. I don't like feeding live food, so that's a plus for me, and I only need to buy it a few times a year.

Other than that, they get about the same size, have roughly the same personalities. I'm sure someone can tell you all kinds of stuff they like more about leos than cresties. In the end it's all a personal preference.

Definitely down to personal preference. I have both, but only 1 crestie --leos are my passion.

I want Leo's as well! I think they are both beautiful, but I've never kept lizards. I've only helped my nephew with his snakes and scorpion, and taken care of my dogs cats fish crabs n turtle. So I think not having to deal with heat or anything at first would be easier for me. Until I can afford an exoterra tall type cage could I use a taller storage tub I was going to use for my crabbies?

I would go with cresties myself. Sorry to even up the vote! Both are really cool animals and once you get the gecko bug you'll probably end up with both anyway! :) ;)

I would agree, go with a crested, you will be really happy with them, and as others have said you will probably end up with more than one type.

I like leos better but cresties are soooo easy to take care of! I love not dealing with heaters and thermostats!
