Sounds like a cool idea to me. Just mak sure you have lots of care sheets with you so people who decide to buy one on-the-spot can have a good idea of how to care for the geckos.

I was actually thinking about having a "gecko yard sale" at one point in a year when I was worried I wouldn't be able to sell all my babies the conventional way (didn't need to). Selling at a flea market as a knowledgeable breeder seems like a good idea to me.
Two things to think about:
--people at flea markets often expect things to be cheap. If you're not selling your leos for $5 each (and I hope you're not), you may have to explain to people about the value of a live animal etc., etc.
--you may want to consider putting together some set-ups so you have something to sell to people along with the leos and can insure they're housed properly. I spend most of the off-season haunting ebay, craigslist and yard sales so I can put together and sell complete setups (including everything from tank to tile substrate to calcium and vitamin supplements) at $50 for 10 gallon and $70 for 20 gallon.

a flea market is like a place where people sell all kinds of stuff for usually very cheap, and there is a section in the back where there are a couple of animal stores

For me, the place where a leo is doesn't matter. As long as it was taken care of properly and was what I was looking for and I had space to put it, I would probably buy it. I would be pretty concerned with impulse buyers though.

Personally I wouldn't buy any animal from a Fleamarket, simply for the fact that I don't know what's in that market and what diseases and whatnot are floating around.

I would, especially since i am not buying to breed, it would just be a pet. Getting to see and hold a Leo before i buy it would definitely be a plus! To bad i don't live anywhere near Winter Haven though...

I would but it probably wouldn't be a smart choice. If you were looking to breed that isn't the best place to look.

I think I would only sell normals this way, maybe some of the other common morphs, like trempers. You wont be able to sell them for much and if you sell the more expensive morphs for real cheep you will really flood the market with them (especially in your area). I would say it is better then selling to a pet store though, since you will meet each person and you can always refuse a sale it they dont seem to be able to handle it.

I personally wouldn't buy one, but I know others will. I don't think people are going to always just want Leos so, your going to have to breed other types of reptiles if you want to make some $.
And you got to give all the + of buying from a breeder than just going to your local chain pet store. Regular people wont know why your asking three times as much for "just" a lizard.
Try to keep it simple with the morphs. I would just breed the main ones like Normals,Trempers, patternless, Blizzards....

It might be a good idea to put up some kind of outside advertising so ppl will know that your going to be there selling.Ppl who are looking to buy geckos would probably appreciate a local breeder with easy access as opposed to shipping or buying from a pet store. If you get the word out a month before you actualy open, you may have yorself a nice little market.Plus if you kept the prices average to slightly over,it might lessen the risk of "impulse buyers" and ppl not serious about caring for them.

yea i was thinking of only selling normals, trempers, patternless, maybe som mack snows, and tangs. and i have some boa and ball projects going, i was figuring i could hand out cards that have my web site adress on it for people looking for a lil nicer morph, and i was gonna have a couple of friends of mine who already work in the flea market put up a couple of signs at the booth telling everyone that im coming and blah blah blah, and ill prolly only have it for one weekend out of the month, or every two weeks depending on how much business im doing compared to how much i am able to put out, like i siad i will print out care sheets on each animal, and will have some setups for sale, and if they dont want to buy them, then they can see pretty much what they need, my prices for leos will prolly be $45 and up, i will make sure that i have a huge jug of sanitizer that way thyey can sanitize their hands b4 and after touching my geckos, and i have a bunch of other ideas for marketiing/sales, and im thinking it wont happen till maybe march/april of next year, but keep up the posting, if you have any ideas or suggestions throw em' at me i wont be offended
