Anyone ever use fluker's cricket feed for mealies? I just want to know if the mealies like it as much as the crickets do and if its safe and ok to use.
I've been using and recommending it for years. I really like Flukers orange cubes as a water source...I find that its a lot less messy than the gel stuff and lasts much longer too.
From what i have heard (and i'm not certain this is correct) when the crickets consume the gel, it can solidify (like if you leave it in there too long, i'm sure you know what i mean) in their stomachs and not pass, then, when the leos eat the crickets, it's possible for the gel/cube solids to be retained much like grains of sand would...anyone hear of this?
In response to leonewbie, I think the exoskeleton of your average feeder insect is much tougher than the watering gel. Plus the digestive system should be able to break it down. I mean, you can feed them dry cat/dog food and that's not an impaction issue.
