Forced to get rid of my collection

Hello all...

I haven't been part of this community for long...but it has really been awesome meeting new people, learning new things about leopard geckos, and building up my collection...

Unfortunately, my apartment complex...is making me get rid of my geckos....

I am a student...so I don't have very much flexibility...

This is seriously heartbreaking to me...as I was getting ready to launch a website which I have already paid for...and have to get rid of a collection that has quickly accumulated and means a lot to me.

I know I will end up taking a serious loss on my time and investment...but it sucks having to let my leo's go.

I will be posting a classified soon with my whole collection on sale...I will try to throw up some fair prices...but I will accept offers...

Please take a look...

Hopefully I will be able to continue this at another time in my life. :main_no: :(

That sucks man, are they make you get rid of them because you have so many? Or just because they don't want any in there period?

That's really awful. What problems could a couple of leos possibly cause to an apartment?

I'd say pick a few of your favorites and hide them. :x I'm bad like that, though.

It's too bad that most apartment complexes are so intolerant of pets.

you know I get the whole dog/cat thing...with dander etc...and animals that ruin carpet and furniture...but a caged animal makes no adverse effects.

You don't have family or friends that don't mind keeping them for you until you get out of school or find another place, if you can? As long as you pay for their care and/or come over to take care of them?

That really sucks and that lady is such a _____. I mean, she has to have a reason, if I was in your situation. As long as the area is clean, no litter on the floor, and they aren't a health hazard, or go against the apartment codes, then I don't see no reason why. She needs to give you a legit reason. I am all for obeying the landlord, but if they were always accepted and she wants them gone, then why?

If she repeatedly refers to them as snakes, I don't think he's dealing with a reasonable person.

Can you move? Can you board them somewhere? Perhaps with a sympathetic reptile or avian vet for an agreed upon rate?

Maybe strike a deal with a friend. Pay him or her to let you keep them at his or her place until new living arrangements can be acquired.

I'd fight.

Myself I think I would contact the people that owns the complex if there isn't anything in your lease that says no pets.

I am a fighter, but this is a lose situation. She doesn't need to justify anything, the lease is clear. Regardless of it being my personal property on my paid for living space.

She is just going out of her way..

I am considering trying just keep them in my room so they cant see, but they can come in my room regardless...

In the meantime...I am trying to consider ways to keep em, or ways to stay in this scene without having any geckos :p

Maybe turn my webspace into a free Reptile Classified funded by ads? I am having considerations....

That sucks! I don't understand, but isn't having a tank of gold fish the same as having a tank of geckos? But most apartment will tolerate gold fish but not geckos...that really sucks.
