Has anyone else noticed people being extra whiny lately? I'm so fucking sick of it. This jerk-off emails to tell me I ruined his breeding project by sending him a 43g male that was supposed to be female. I'm assuming he was hoping I would offer him a refund or replacement with out even questioning it. Here's the funny correspondence:

I have had this gecko in with a male since it got out of quarantine after she was first received. I had been wondering why it never ovulated but didnt consider that it could be a male. Today after it shed i checked one last time to see if it would ovulate before i separated it from the male it was with. Upon inspection I noticed that it had what appeared to be a triangle shape above the cloaca. Sure enough, i looked lower and it has visible hemipenal glands as well... this is unfortunate because i have had two males housed together.... I find it highly comical that both of us couldnt figure out this is a male. The only problem is this messes up one of my breeding plans....

Can you please send me a picture? At over 40g "he" should have had REALLY obvious bulges.

Thats what i was thinking as well. Im not going to be able to get a picture. The place where bulges should be is faint, however, the pores are apparent. i know this can happen for females but would this have effected her behavior toward the male, she was obviously the dominate member of the cage. could she just be an odd ball, the hemipenal area is faint for sure, but the pores are the largest i have seen for a female. I hope i was mistaken and this is just a very dominate female... i'll put the gecko in with my females and see what happens...

Without a photo I can't help too much but females can have visible pores and a "bulgy" appearance. She was incubated at 81F (+/- .5) so I'm confident that she is a female. We sex geckos every day and we've only had one temp sexed male end up being a female. I'm certainly not incapable of mistakes but I definitely don't remember seeing male bulges on her at the time of shipping. If you are able to get a picture at some point I'd still like to see it just to be sure.

Here's a picture of a young male at 36g. You can see how obvious the pores and bulges are even at that size.

The more i compare the gecko in question to my other males and females the more i think it is a VERY masculine female. its weird, i put her in a female enclosure to see how it would act and it didnt act like a male would, no tail display, no chasing or anything like that. The pores on this gecko look male... the hemipenal gland area looks closer to my other females.... hopefully next season she will ovulate. i know Eric from Oregon gecko has produced females that acted male their first year and then thier second started to ovulate, i think this may be a similar situatuion.

Sorry but I just had to rant! The issue with Melanie (getrdone0420) and Rusty (Ratman667) not being home to accept the geckos we sent and then having them die has set me in a bad mood for everyone else.

Damn, how'd I miss these threads? :main_no:

People just suck sometimes, Mel. I still can't flippin' believe those people weren't home to get their geckos. If I have a shipment coming, I friggin' wait all day until they come (or my hubby does.) We don't do jack until they are here, or I have them delivered to my local FedEx/UPS hub. What tools.

And I just *love* how this tool says "I can't get a picture" - then why the fuck whine about it to you? I'm sure he was expecting a replacement or whatnot. Christ on a cracker. :main_rolleyes:
