As long as the females are ovulating, it's not too late.

once he marks one of his hides you put it in with the female and she will ovulate and then you can breed her to him

First, quarantine him for at least a month to make sure no one makes anyone else sick. As far as whether they will breed, it depends on whether the females are still ovulating. I have introduced young females to a male as late as August and gotten eggs that have hatched. It's definitely worth a try. Most of my leos are ovulating and breeding till about July or Aug., but they start in Feb.
