My juvenile leopard gecko is becoming very skinny. The tail seems very skinny or skinnier than it should be. I could try and sumbit some pictures of it tonight when it comes out. It is in its moist hide right now (it spends a lot of time in there) and i dont want to disturb it. It doesnt seem to be eating its meal worms. I have a dish in its tank with about 10-12 worms in it. Please if someone could help with what i should do. I have had the gecko for a little over two weeks now. It is around 4 months old i believe.

Thank you.

The tail does not look good. I'm not sure what to say but we have tried to help you get your set up corrected so its sad to see the little one is still having problems :( hopefully others will be more helpful

If I were you, I would get a fresh fecal sample and take that to the vet. Just ask for a fecal stain, that's cheaper than taking the leo in. The poor baby could have parasites. It looks very bad. Sorry that happened! If you have other geckos, keep them separated (best: different rooms, and don't share food/water bowls and crickets/worms), and disinfect your hands very well or wear gloves. One parasite-infested gecko can kill all your others.

Just her normal poo, if you can get more the better. My samples are done with just a tiny bit of poo but mine was fresh.

She doesn't look good at all :( I hope you're able to save her. Does she have a water dish, she could be dehydrated? Hmm...

Does your temp have a probe at the end of it (just double checking to make sure the temps are right)

Try to get that sample in asap, she's loosing weight too quickly.

If your temperatures are as high as 98 and you are measuring it on the side of the glass tank, most likely the floor temps on the hot side are too hot. I know you love your little gecko, but if you got it at a pet store, I would return it. It doesn't look very positive for this baby. Sorry.

I just found pics..

That poor lizard.. looks like it hasn't eaten in a month.. it took you this long to realize something OS wrong..

She is.very close to death...

She needs to to a vet ASAP!

In most cases you have some time to see if its a hunger strike... in this case you don't..

I don't see her lasting 2weeks most in the condition.

Upon further inspection of pics
Along with being extremely emaciated she has a bloated stomach...

2 possibilities
1. Impacted bowls

2. Parasites

If u do not get this Leo to the asap less than a week before she dies!

Thank you all for the answers. I will take it to a vet tomorrow. I have been checking in the tank repeatedly today. At one point it was in the food dish eating a worm. Do you guys know how much it will cost approx for the vet?

The fact that the little one is eating is a very positive sign, but without veterinary intervention and treatment, the outcome doesn't look very good...

Hey everyone, i called the vet this morning. They only have one doctor that works on reptiles and he is usually out doing farm calls. I am still waiting on the call back on when i can bring it in. The lady i talked to said the appointment starts at 75 bucks and goes up from there :( i hope what the doc suggests isnt going to be too much but what ever it takes to get it healthy is my only concern right now. I will keep you all updated.

ok, so i dropped the gecko off yesterday morning, then around four i got a call from the doc. Basically he told me to try and lower the temp on my hot side and to try and change its diet. He said it was to small to try and do anything to treat it. ....but i have a question regarding my UTH. It doesnt have a swtich or a control to control heat. Is there a way to fix something up so i can get a dial switch on the UTH too?
